Hello! It's wonderful that you've stumbled upon to this site. Are you a little lost and confused? Well, look no further! This Handy Site Guide should help make things seem a little clearer!
First of all, please could you read the rules HERE.Ugh, I know. But it really helps things run smoother, and may even answer any questions you may have that aren't covered here.
Registration
So, you've read the rules, had a look around the site and you want to take part! Fabulous! All you've got to do is register! In the top left there should be a button which says "Register", click that.
✧ Put in the email address you would like to use as your Forum account.
✧ Make yourself a password - don't share it with anyone!
✧ Your Name is your characters name. You have up to 50 characters. Put your characters first name, a space, then middle name (optional), a space, and then surname. E.g. John Smith, or Sammy Von Penn. Please don't use all caps or numbers, just enter the name as you would usually. For example PETER JOHN, SCARLETT44, FrAN BON JoVi, will all be invalid and your account will be deleted.
✧ Enter your Birthday. You have to be older than 13 to register.
✧ Select your gender.
✧ Your Forum Username is your characters name, without spaces. There is a 20 character limit on this.Hopefully if/when the site upgrades, we can get a new registration system to allow spaces and a bigger character limit... So if you're name is Sammy Von Penn, your Forum Username would be SammyVonPenn. You can add in spaces and capitalisation later by editing your profile.
✧ Then check your email, find the activation key, input it into the correct box and you've done it! You've made an account.*pops champagne*
Can I be a relative of an original X-Men character?
Er, no. Sorry. We'd love you to be an original character. By all means, if you want the same/similar mutation then go right ahead! But if we have too many people with the same mutation, we will ask you to change the mutation just so we have a more rounded set of individuals! I mean, we can't all fly or shoot fire or be telepathic can we? Please also avoid the use of surnames that could be related to any original X-Men character, e.g. Xavier, Summers, Grey, etc. If you really, really want the same surname as someone from the original X-Men, we may allow it. But you MUST NOT actually be related in any way to the character. So you cannot take the surname of Xavier, say you're not related but then suddenly find out from your cousins Aunt that you're actually related to Charles Xavier.
I don't know what mutation I want?
Look no further than the *Mutation Sorter*! Fill out the quiz, PM it to the Sorting Machine and in (at least) a couple of days you'll be given at least 3 different options of Mutations to choose for your character.
I'm not a native English speaker... Can I still take part?
Of course you can! As long as you have a reasonable understanding of English, and I mean, we do have Google Translate these days or perhaps if you're not sure, someone will help you! Everyone and anyone is welcome to join. But English is the main language that'll be spoken here.
Can I have more than one account with the same email?
Yes, I believe you can! If you wanted to use more than one email, then go for it! But you can create multiple accounts using the same email.
Can I have an OOC (Out Of Character) account?
Nope, sorry! OOC accounts are for staff members only so they can be contacted quickly and can be easily found.
I want to play a Student
So, you've decided you want to have a Student character, great! It can be such fun to play as a Student. You get to go to class, work on your abilities, meet new people, make friendsand enemies and once you've flown the nest, you may even get a chance to be part of the First Class team or work for the CIA or even become a teacher at Xavier's School.
Do I have to start out as a Year 1?
Nope. Xavier's School accepts all ages. You could start as a Year 5 or Year 11, it's up to you. Xavier's School understands that some people may not discover their mutations until later on in their life, so we accept students of all ages at all points in the year.
What House will I be in?
Once you've been accepted as a character, fill out the *House Quiz* and PM it to the Sorting Machine. In (at most) couple of days after, you will find out which House you're in.
You have Classes? What? Do I have to take part in them?
No, you don't have to. Real life is a thing and we understand that not everyone will have the time to endlessly reply and actively take part in every single class for their character(s). You can join as many classes as you want, but you don't have to join any if you don't want to. However, if you're stuck for some thing to Roleplay or you don't have a Roleplay partner, then perhaps classes are a good way of Roleplaying.
Clubs are also available for you to join and take part in. If you want to create a club or suggest a club, contact a member of staff.
What if I want to be a Prefect or Head Girl/Boy?
At the start of each school year there will be applications available foryou your character to fill out. The staff will go through the applications and select those to be Prefects, Head of House Prefect, Head Girl and Head Boy.
Prefect - Prefect of your House.
Head of House Prefect - Head Prefect of your House. Your organise the other Prefects in your House, occasionally meet up with your Head of House (which is always a staff member) and go to School Council Meetings.
Head Girl - In charge of all students. You organise all Prefects and Head of House Prefects, have meetings with Head's of Houses, occasionally go to Staff Meetings and go to School Council Meetings.
Head Boy - In charge of all students. You organise all Prefects and Head of House Prefects, have meetings with Head's of Houses, occasionally go to Staff Meetings and go to School Council Meetings.
I want to play an Adult
You want to play an all grown up character? Wonderful! You can have great fun working for the CIA, being a teacher, or perhaps just working in a pub and more. You could even be part of the First Class team.
I want to be the next Magneto and/or create a Brotherhood?
No, sorry! We already have the League of Mutants, which is open for members. To join the League of Mutants, look HERE.
I would just LOVE to be a teacher here at Xavier's School... Can I?
